What’s better? An LCD LG telly or a Plasma Panasonic. Both 37". Around £370 new.?

The LG 37 Inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV – £369
or
Panasonic 37 Inch HD Ready Digital Plasma TV TX-P37X20 – £369
Are these excellent deals? Can anyone recommend anywhere to look for excellent deals for televisions? Other than Amazon and the norm
Many thanks!
LCD TVs have much more solid picture and are brighter. The only downsides are less contrast and worse viewing angles. LCDs are also much better for gaming, as they have sharper pixel outlines for details. Certainly get an LCD. Before getting a plasma, I would even tell you to get a high-resolution CRT or DLP projection TV. I don’t like plasmas. xD

I would go for LCD every time, Plasmas get very hot and cost the earth to run. They also suffer from screen burn in and most be transported standing up. LG and Panasonic are both top brands.

For picture quality I would go for the Plasma! I have a 42" LG and the quality is incredible. But, if the TV is likely to be used by children for gaming I would recommend the LCD, Plasma will suffer from screen burn if a game is paused quite a lot. If an adult is going to use it for gaming remember to turn the tv off if you are going to make a cuppa!
I normally get my TV and HIFI gear from Richer Sounds
