I bought a TV mid Oct and by thanksgiving it died. Because it was over 30 days ancient I had to deal with the waranty instead of exchanging it. I bought it at Best Buy with the waranty for someone to come to my home. No one wants to come to my house because I live to far away. Toshiba (the brand of the TV I bought told me I would have some one at my house to repair the set so I would have the TV for the holidays. The technician refuse to come until Toshiba sends a work order to authorize the work and the mileage. It is now January 6 and I’m still waiting for some one to show up to my home. Who do I complain to and get results. Everyone claims they are doing their part but I’m still out a working TV.
Try 1-888-Best-Buy. Otherwise, you must report to Toshiba what the local repair people said or you will not get anywhere. Reason is; for such things, the repair men make jack so they are unwilling to be of service. If you push enough Toshiba will place dread into the repair men and you will have a tv.
What can I do about slow progress in getting waranty work done? Companies like Best Buy, Toshiba, Conpaq, etc?

Try talking with Toshiba/Best Buy, question them to reimburse you if you call a local person to fix it. If they say yes, just send them the bill after your TV is fixed. Oh, and always get them to talk directly to the technichan just to clear any disputes that occur after the event.
