Part 1 of 3
This is another typical small game of Demigod against the computer.
In this video I’m playing the Demigod Torch Bearer, who would be your classic Death Knight … if he wasn’t a fire mage and frost mage both. But at least he’s dead and his skills do it’s very best to promote others to this state of being. His fire skills deal high hurt over a large area and his fireball has a high range which makes this skill ideal for finishing off fleeing victims. His ice skills can – duh – freeze enemies, slow enemies, prevent them from casting … often by killing said enemies with massive amounts of hurt.
He also has the highest mana pool and mana regeneration in the game, which is further enhanced by changing into his fire form.
As with Oak from my previous inGame video, Torch Bearer can be played in different ways. Some people stick to one form because they dislike the time delay caused by switching forms or because they invested heavily in TB’s passive skills, which are only effective in one form or another.
The build I’m using here is using fire and ice for maximum efficiency – Ring of Fire deals high hurt over time while being quite cheap. It’s also your only area denial spell because people tend to hesitate before charging into the infernal flames. Fireball for killing cowards, Rain of Ice for hurt and slowing, Frost Nova for massive stun. I skipped Deep Freeze, which whould have added high spike hurt to a single target.

no offense, but that’s like saying the strongest druids in WoW are hybrids. Fire and ice both have their strong points, but hybrid TB’s are usually better because you’re not focusing on 1 type of enemy, you’re focusing on ALL types
small replay value …
small replay value? when u play online, most games has tons of replay value because you play with different types of gamers and potentially unpredictable new tactics. Comps are excellent to practice with but real online gamers has extremely high replay value. If u played chess in rl, u will know.. Try to challenge 3 different people and tell me about this ” no replay value” you’re blabbering about.. this game is no exception from chess, it has fantastic replay value online against other players.

I like people who …
I like people who are tireless of saying gaming was only excellent when you were a yellow blob eating ghosts. It sucked BACK THEN. It was just the only thing at people disposal of the kind, that’s why it seemed excellent at the time.

Stardock is one of the few gaming companies really taking a chance. They could just copy DotA exactly, but they chose to do something different. Surely, HOW COULD THEY!?

I tried a frost …
I tried a frost build, but I kinda sucked.
A pure fire build was fantastic against creeps, but I sucked vs other DGs. But I don’t play TB that often so I probably overlooked the better tactics to use for those builds.
And the troll comments are simple to know if you assume that they didn’t grasp that Demigod is mainly a team competition game and doesn’t really need a tale mode.
After all, how much background tale do you need for Team Fortress or – say – Tennis and Football?

Oh yeah, the other nice thing about popping into fire form, casting fireball, and then right back to frost is I get both of the temporary buffs

Don’t let the haters get to you. I reckon this is a fantastic game, it just has small replay value IMO.
Anyway, usually I go a ‘Mostly Frost’ build. I spend points in Fireball as well to take down runners and get that really nice ‘Fire and Ice/Frost’ at the end of the tree. 300 bonus hurt is quite a bit, it pumps your fireball up to 1350! I just switch when my frost abilities are on Cooldown.
I’ve yet to try this online. I’ll probobly get pwned cause i’m not excellent vs other players.
