AntennasDirect is really pushing their new series Antenna before crunch time ends before change over..
Beware, I order the $129.00 long range antenna.Fantastic shippping time..and Tracking info…
The problem is I received someone’s problem. They Box had been open prior, just retaped. Missing screws and the flimsy contact board in connection box was broken at bolt head, not allowing for one half to transmit. It was obvious that the antenna had been place together and taken apart with bent sections and missing hardware. I chose to place it together, due to impatience of wanting to see what it could pull in.After hunting thru the garage for pieces and parts to place it together,I was able to get a few channels from one side..I then sent an email asking to buy the board or a whole new Black box for connection. It has been nearly four days and 7 emails, and still no response.Three calls have been made and they transfer you and then disconnect you..So beware, buy at own risk, if you need answers or parts, they will not respond. Your best bet is ship it right back… Excellent Luck!

During the winter months, we rent an “off the grid” house in the hills of Western Maine (no cable – but we have power). The trusty, portable analog TV ($19.00) that we used for years for emergencies, camping, etc. worked fantastic at this location. The house is located 45-60 miles from the transmitters of all the major TV stations in Southern Maine.
After the digital transition, we did a lot of research on antennas before we bought the Clearstream 4.. We were under the impression from Antenna Web that we would be able to pick up at least one station with a decent antenna. We bought a laptop with an Aver Media ASTC tuner (built in TV Tuner) and the Clearstream 4. Despite hours of turning, moving, raising, scanning etc..we got absolutely nothing from this antenna. We have used the built in TV before, with it’s own antenna so we know that it works. We also know that you have to sync the Aver Media card to the zip code of where you are trying to get reception.
Unfortunately, the government made the transition from analog to digital way before the technology was available to provide “free TV” to everybody that wanted it. Now you need a lot of money, time, and work to just to even make the attempt. And frankly, if you are not in a major metropolitan area, the technology is not there at all, especially for the small, emergency TV’s that many people rely on. We are giving up and waiting for something else (repeater towers??).
No way around it -digital is line of sight..waiting for the next “Huge Thing”..
PS We had to go on Antennas Direct Web Page to get decent instructions.

I bought a new Sharp 65″ LCD and used my ancient antenna from 1967. The ancient one worked okey but everyone one said I would get a better picture with a new digital antenna. I bought the Clearstream4 and I live about 35 miles from the TV tower but the picture isn’t any better than with my ancient antenna. The new antenna has to by directed right at the tower for a clear picture, the ancient one could be off by about 15 degrees and still works.

I bought this thinking i can pick up more channels than my small philips outdoor HDTV antenna. I mounted it in 3 different locations, and last one i place it next to the Philips HDTV antenna, and still it can’t pick up any digital signal since the switch. Not worth a penny!!!
