If you’re new to Demon’s Souls, this will be a video that doesn’t give too much away. Just an NPC Merchant location in one of the 5 instances ingame. This NPC is only available after you’ve defeated Phalanx, the first of many bosses you’ll face in Demon’s Souls. Delight in =)
Now some gamers from the Demon’s Souls community have said this area isn’t excellent farming, but you have to keep this in perspective. The Soul Level range I’m suggesting this area to is 15-25, in that range, especially casters, this area offers the same soul-per-mob value as area 1-1 does. At such a low level there are 2 priorites, one is souls ofc, the other is reagents for lowbie weapon enchants to help you become more combat effective, and hasten your rate of farming. Your next goal after this area is to kill the dragon in 1-2, and to start farming area 4-1 asap.
My first time through this area, the following dropped for me:
8 Shard of Hardstone
1 Large Hardstone Shard
! Chunk of Hardstone
9 Shard of Sharpstone
1 Large Sharpstone Shard
1 Chunk Sharpstone
6 Shard of Clearstone
1 Chunk of Clearstone
2 Unknown Soldier Souls
3 Unkown Hero Souls
1 Renowned Hero Soul
1 Iron Knuckles
When I converted the Hero and Soldier souls, in addition to the mobs killed, 4200 souls total, and taking into account the soul value of all those stones at vendors, that’s alot. So to say this isn’t a fantastic place to run thru a few times at level 15 is just daft.

I suppose there is an audience that prefers to play RPG’s on Console, as opposed to or in addition to PC MMO’s. If you fit either catagory, or don’t have a PC that can run the current MMO’s, or don’t even have access to a PC, then this should already be on your shelf.

This is not a bullshit game. Demon’s Souls is a hardcore RPG that will kick your ass. Play single player offline, or play single player online where you can view notes left by other online players, you can also co-op 4 players, or invade other players alternate worlds where you walk in shadow form and the demons of that players world are your allies. The potential for PvP mischief online is endless. The artwork is stunning, the mechanics are spot-on, the bosses are well thought out for the strategists out there, and the weapons are incredible so far and I’ve only been playing 36 hours now. If you reckon you’re hardcore, Demon’s Souls may just challenge this opinion you hold of yourself, a fantastic test of skill, a game I’m glad I bought. Thank you TITANSUSA for recomending it to me.

Ye so, in a PSN video chat TITANSUSA told me Demon’s Souls was worth buying. Modern Warfare 2 hadn’t been doing it for me lately, just a bunch of newbs running around with double rangers, etc. So I figured I’d give Demon’s Souls a shot, since it’s a Playstation 3 exclusive and all. But then, I remembered TITANSUSA, upon hearing I plotted to skip GTA4 convinced me I was incorrect and that GTA4 would be worth buying (which it wasn’t, it was the balls-worst game I’d ever played). So anyway, this is me popping the disk into my ps3 for the first time, will it be worth it? I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve played it some.
The tutorial and combat system so far are a bit murky. Having a free swing element in combat is nice, but there is lock-on-target feature as well. Haven’t tried or mastered all the combos yet. Haven’t leveled much, just trying stuff.
