i bought a tv 44 wide screen on dec 2004. 20 months later the dlp lamp burns out .i have 3 years left on my warrantley with future shop.not covered says future shop. go to toshiba they say . toshiba said not covered after six months.except for the 2005and the 2006. which have a ext .their warrantly for two years on the dlp.myonly option is to buy a new dlp for the price of 540.00 tax inc.whereas if i was one of the lucky ones and bought a 46 or lager set .it would be the dlp would be replaced free.even if i still had to pay for a new dlp it would cost me 226 dollars, verus 540 dollars they want me to pay for my 44 inch. i paid 2600.00 dollars 20 months ago for the set .now i"m expected to pay 540 dollars every 20 months for a new dlp lamp.even though i paid for the extra insurance coverage. i guess thats what i get for being a life long future shop and toshiba customer. future shop told me to buy another tv set if i was not pleased with the one i had. toshiba said not their problem.
well i can only tell you what i would do…i would quit while i was ahead.
you have had it for nearly 2 years and you probably are not going to win, not because you are incorrect but because this is how some people operate?
dump the tv for what you can sell it for
buy a cheap tv for now..never mind all the warranty stuff..keep the tv for a year, while you reckon about this nightmare..i have a sony vega..and it was cheap an i have had it for 2 years and i do not have to worry about the stress of this warranty stuff
when it stops working,,i will go and buy something else..it is not so terrible having a smaller tv..and you will have all that $$ to spend on what ever you like
