Based on suggestions to buy a new LCD TV locally as opposed to online, which certainly does make a lot of sense on such a buy, I’ve found the following at Circuit City that I can pickup locally (I compared prices on Best Buy, Office Depot, etc and Circuit City seems to have the best deals):

The first is for a Toshiba Regza 47" LCD for $1200 and the second is for a LG 42" LCD HDTV for $1000. Both are 1080p. One thing I noticed is that the Toshiba has 8ms response time and LG has 5ms response time. I’m not too sure how significant that is. Does anyone has any suggestions or advice on which to get?
To me it looks like a the main difference is $200 for an extra 5", but then again I don’t know what most of the specs mean!
There is no question, between these two sets. The hands down winner is the Toshiba. The ‘3ms’ difference in response time will make small difference to most users. In a 40" – 47" LCD, the top brand for reliability and performance is Sony.

So ye, m$ft’s current strategy to satisfy their ignorant userbase is to enlist the help of developers to make multiplatform games that steal their subject matter directly from established franchises. How do multiplatform games benefit m$ft? Don’t multiplat games benefit all systems? No, multiplatform titles accomplish a few things.
One thing multiplatform games do is cancel the nextgen and better hardware argument. Why do you need better hardware to run games that play on lesser systems as well? But all right players lose because to accomodate the small bus console, we have to deal with a slew of small games, small enough to fit on the bastardized consoles limited media disc. Want better games? Only buy exclusives that make full use of the Bluray disc.
Also, much like a political voting event, multiplat games pull attention away from exclusives. Those dumb enough to buy them because of misleading video trailers or pretty box covers may find themselves small on cash when it comes time to buy the exclusive. Much like Independent candidates pull attention away from Democrat or Republican candidates.
These two games, Darksiders and Dante’s both steal their mechanics directly from the God of War series, but Darksiders is the worst offender of the 2, stealing character skins from World of Warcraft. Don’t buy either of these games, wait for God of War 3 and place your money where it belongs.
If you look at all of m$ft’s exclusives, they’re never very skill oriented, never attempt to build a right community or show children how to organize, because m$ft is part of the problem we have in the United States at this moment. Predatory laws, Politicians bent on disenfranchising Americans to be subserviant to their government. Yes, m$ft and other corporations partner up to keep our kids stupid, and produce mindless consumers who buy into whatever hype is advertised to them.
If you bought Darksiders or Dante’s, you’re part of the problem, you have some re-thinking to do.
Oh, and what do I mean about Dante’s being written to introduce soldiers back into society? Dante’s Inferno, the original poem, was written to show soldiers that what they’ve done on the field of battle will have to faced once home if they wish to save their marriage, or start one. The premise used was hell, and Beatrice, but what the book really exposed was the inner workings of a disturbed man and the psychosis that faith makes in fanatical followers. How appropriate that a bullsht poem would become a bullsht game…

Draksiders is a Third Person View (TPV) action fantasy game developed by Vigil Games and Published by THQ in USA and Published by Konami in Japan, Dante’s Inferno is a TPV action fantasy game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts, both of these crappy games are multiplatform games made for Playstation3 and Red Ring of Death 360. World of Warcraft is a TPV Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment exclusively for PC. God of War 3 is a TPV action fantasy title made by developer Incognito exclusively for the Playstation 3, deserves your hard earned money. Rooms to go is having promotion right now where you get a free Toshiba TV with the buy of certain mattresses, I wanted to do it bit the store doesn’t really have any specs on the model of TV, does anyone know what the model number is or if this is really a excellent deal? Thanks!
@ TV Guy – all of those complaints are aimed attheir customer service, nothing about the actual tv, besides I got a guarantee of getting the mattress on Monday or they’d knock off $100 I’m not desperate to get the tv like those superbowl people were, so I really don’t care how long it takes to get here, I care about the actual quality of the set.

Lots of complains. Don’t expect the TV to worth more than 10-15% of the price of the mattress.
These are all gimmicks. Just buy the mattress at the cheapest price you can find.
